The Al-Anon Family Groups are a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope in order to solve their common problems. We believe alcoholism is a family illness and that changed attitudes can aid recovery.

Al-Anon is not allied with any sect, denomination, political entity, organization, or institution; does not engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any cause. there are no dues for membership. Al-Anon is self-supporting through its own voluntary contributions.

Al-Anon has but one purpose: to help families of alcoholics. We do this by practicing the Twelve Steps, by welcoming and giving comfort to families of alcoholics, and by giving understanding and encouragement to the alcoholic.

***AIS Picnic Talent Show***
There will be a talent show at the AIS Picnic on August 25. We are asking that each District be represented by at least 1 act and that large meetings provide an act. The AIS Board has also been requested to provide an act. The act can be a skit, comedy, singing, playing an instrument, dancing, kazoos, a dog act (if you have a talented dog), magic, yodeling, juggling, etc. Talent is definitely optional but fun is required.
A prize will be awarded to the best act. Broadway has its Tony Awards; Hollywood has its Oscars, and now Al-Anon has its “Lois Award.” This much coveted award can be proudly displayed at your meetings until next year’s picnic where your group will have the opportunity to win it again.
So don’t delay. Get started on planning your act today.
